Where’s Wally?

Where’s Wally?

Last weekend we got down with our bad selves and hit the uber- cool ‘Where’s Wally’ themed Urban Food Fest at Shorditch.  Thankfully we quickly dropped our sad granddad street talk before anyone shouted ‘We’ve found Wally’ and did what we do best…wood roast.

We got our hands on some delicious demi brioche buns from The Chalet Bakery, these are made with eggs and butter making the perfect burger bun.

We stuffed these to the rafters with succulent slow roasted pork, which is cooked really really slowly (minimum cooking time is 12hrs). We get our pork from Downs View Farm in West Sussex. It’s well worth paying a little more for happy pigs, they have much less fat so little waste and you really can taste the difference.

Each bun was then topped with our homemade slaw which is a luscious purple and tastes a little like succotash and to finish a good dollop of cucumber pickle. Finally a side of paprika coated crackling, in case the massive bun wasn’t quite enough!

We met some fantastic people and amazing street food traders, I also had the best brownie I have EVER tasted from South East Cakery.

It’s a great Saturday night out but don’t eat before you go, you’re gonna need some room!
